Chapter VI
Vova and Ales
Autumn gave way to winter. Conditions in detention became more difficult, and more and more people began to fall ill, and the protest itself began to change. When the heroes of this story were in isolation, Minsk experienced a stronger crackdown. The death of Raman Bandarenko was the culmination, and it echoed throughout the country and abroad. He died on November 12 after being brutally beaten the previous night in his backyard.
Vova and Ales were the only ones in the cells who didn't leave the prison at all and were given another 15 days in prison.
